Shipton Spire Expedition

Shipton Spire Expedition

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐(6 Review)

Shipton Spire is another fascinated rock wall in trango group of mountains. It’s very near from Trango Tower and most challengious peaks in the Karakoram range.
It’s located Three miles across the Trango Glacier and just above the confluence of the North and South Hainabroq Glaciers was the elusive Shipton Spire.
It’s stands two hours walk from Trango Towers Group on Upper Trango Glacier.
It rises out of the massive glacial junction with it’s walls looking stunning and fierce. Many climbers from around the world are attracted by these rock towers.
The climbing is hard but the rock quality is superb. On its major route a 29 pitch, 4,400 ft. big-wall with the pitch rated 6c, 7b and 7b+ certainly offer best technical climb one can expect on a Karakoram granite tower.

Arriving in the Pakistani capital after a period in the mountains is always a strange experience, and it takes a little time to get used to the hustle and bustle and especially the traffic. Our private bus will be waiting at the airport to transfer us to the group hotel and once we have settled in it will be time to take lunch (unless we have experienced unusual flight delays). After lunch, the rest of the day is free for independent sightseeing or to relax at the hotel. Your Guide will advise you on the possibilities for sightseeing. Shopping for handmade Iranian & Afghan rugs is usually a popular option. This evening we come together again for a celebratory meal at the hotel or in a local restaurant.

Skardu Airport has recently upgraded to an international airport with the latest GPS, which means the chances of flights getting cancelled are minimal.

In Case of Flight cancellation, we will drive down the Karakoram Highway. We will arrive in Chillas late afternoon.
